Developed by AIM USA, this first-ever study of multi row bar code SYMBOLOGIES examines the error rates for Code 49 and Code 16K in an auto discriminating environment with Code 39 (with check character), Code 128 and UPC-A. Symbols were tested on large and small diameter curved, small radius axial and flat surfaces. Errors observed, overall error rates, test design and operational details are presented in this comprehensive document. Special, non-proprietary decode algorithms (available as items Z-41 through Z-45) were developed for this fully automated test.
